1965 Fastback in Caspian Blue, correct
and original as indicated on the
data plate code. "Black Plate" California Car, straight body and
clean trim.
Buyers of the first Mustangs
had a choice of two styles. Then in September 1964 the Fastback joined the
lineup.
These were the sportiest of all the cars, with a sleek sloping rear windshield
and a shape vaguely reminiscent of the 1960's
Jaguar or Porsche 911. The car carried the designation 2 + 2 which referred
to the two seats in front and the ability to fold a
rear compartment up or down which gave you an additional two seats. The rear
was a bit cramped, not really comfortable for two
adults on a long trip but when the proud owner of a 1965 Mustang Fastback
showed up for his date in the stylish car, who really cared !
